Every size of job, same phone number

Most suppliers pick an end of the market. We deliberately do not, because the truck that brings a contractor twenty loads on Tuesday can bring a homeowner one yard on Saturday, and both of you deserve the same quote turnaround and the same driver who knows how to get down a narrow street.

One cubic yard is a normal order

There is no truckload minimum. For scale, a cubic yard is 27 cubic feet — and a typical bag of stone from a home centre holds about half a cubic foot. So one yard is roughly 54 bags, several car trips and a great deal of lifting.

We will bring the yard. We will also bring a hundred loads.

Gravel services

Gravel is what most people call us about, and it covers more than one product. Ask for gravel in South Florida and you might mean #57 rock for a French drain, pea rock for a pool deck, or crushed concrete for a driveway base. All of it is gravel, and all of it is on the truck.

Working out how much you need

Material is sold by the ton. Plans are drawn in cubic yards. That mismatch is where most ordering errors come from, and they are expensive in both directions — running short stops a crew, and over-ordering by a large margin ties up money in a pile.

The arithmetic: multiply length by width by depth in feet, divide by 27 to get cubic yards, then multiply by the material's weight per yard. Most rock runs about 1.35 to 1.4 tons per cubic yard; compacted base is heavier at roughly 1.65; topsoil is lighter at about 1.15.

Then allow for compaction. Base and fill lose roughly 20 to 25 percent of their loose volume once they are properly compacted, so the tonnage you order should be above the theoretical plan volume. Our tonnage calculator builds that allowance in and converts the answer into truckloads.

Order slightly heavy. Two extra tons in a pile costs almost nothing and always gets used. Two tons short on a Friday afternoon costs you a whole extra delivery and a crew standing around.

Why contractors use us

We are a sourcing and trucking operation rather than a pit. That is the whole model, and it is worth understanding because it changes what we are good at.

We do not own a quarry, so we are not trying to sell you what our quarry happens to have. We buy from whichever pit, yard or recycler is closest to your job and has the material you actually specified, and we haul it to you. On a market this spread out — four counties and two hundred and forty road miles — that flexibility is usually worth more than owning a hole in the ground.

The practical version of that: one call, one invoice, one point of contact. If a job needs base rock, bedding sand, fill and drainage stone, that is one quote from us instead of four suppliers to chase, four deliveries to coordinate and four invoices to reconcile.

We are locally owned, based in Fort Lauderdale, and there is no call centre. When you ring, you get somebody who knows what a tri-axle can and cannot get into.

Common Questions

FAQ.

What's your minimum order?
One cubic yard. We deliver small residential quantities as readily as full commercial loads — a single yard of pea rock for a planting bed is a normal order. Price per yard improves as quantity rises, so if you are close to a full load it is usually worth rounding up. A standard tri-axle carries about 22 tons, roughly 16 cubic yards of most rock.
How fast can you deliver?
Same-day is doable on most stone, sand, and base if you call before 11 AM and the material is in stock. Next-day is the norm on the mainland. For larger jobs (50+ loads) we recommend 48 to 72 hours of lead time so we can stage trucks and confirm pricing. Florida Keys deliveries are scheduled runs — give us several days, or a week for a big job.
How far do you deliver?
From Jupiter at the north end down to Key West — Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Monroe counties, roughly 245 road miles. We also serve Martin, St. Lucie and Collier by arrangement.
What are your payment terms?
First-time customers: COD or prepay for the first few loads. Once we have a clean payment history, qualified customers move to standard credit terms with a signed credit application. We accept ACH, check and major credit cards. Specific terms are confirmed at quote.
Do you sell smaller quantities for residential projects?
Yes. The minimum is one cubic yard, so a pool deck border, a planting bed or a short French drain is a perfectly normal order. At the other end we scale to 20+ loads a day with proper lead time. Same pricing structure, same delivery standard, same one-hour quote either way.
Do you file Notice to Owner?
Yes. On every job where we are delivering material to real property, we can preserve our lien rights under Florida statute by filing an NTO within 45 days of first delivery. This protects everyone in the payment chain.
Can you handle DOT, municipal or large commercial jobs?
Yes. We are prequalified to bid on Broward County, City of Fort Lauderdale and FDOT District 4 projects, and can scale to 20+ loads a day with prior notice. Large jobs get locked tonnage pricing under formal contract.
Do you haul off as well as deliver?
Yes — backhaul disposal of clean fill, dirt, concrete and asphalt to permitted yards. Often more cost-effective than two separate trips. Ask for a combined quote.
Do you spread or compact the material?
No — we supply and deliver. We can windrow a load as the truck pulls forward, which saves real machine time on driveways, but grading and compaction are site contractor work. Tell us at order time if you want it strung out rather than piled.
